Marcus Walter Fetterly and Julia Ann Reddick Fetterly - Marjorie's Paternal Grandparents
"I
only remember vaguely going to my grandfather's funeral, Marcus
Fetterly. I just remember that we went on the train and rode in a jitney
to their home and went to the cemetery. That's all I remember. I don't remember him as a person. I believe he had dark reddish hair. I do remember my grandmother. She was Julia Reddick Fetterly. She used to come and visit us. She had a very, very straight back. She was in her nineties. She
had been a school teacher in Canada, one of the few women school
teachers of her time and she would go from Morrisburg to Montreal on the
old coach, not in my day but in her day, her early days. She
was determined that her children would have good educations and my
father and Phil were sent to high school and to normal school and became
teachers. My father became a principal and then he went into the
insurance business to make a little more money for a big family."
